01 The method

Manufacturer-spec, with a paper trail

STEP 00 — THE HONEST CHECK

Not every array qualifies. If yours can't be reached safely from the ground, we tell you straight — free — and point you toward a roof-access crew instead. No ladders, no tile-walking, no exceptions.

01

Document

Timestamped photos of your array's condition before we touch anything — corners, close-ups, existing wear. The full set is yours.

02

Pure-water clean

The 30-foot pole carries soft bristles and water filtered until almost nothing is dissolved in it — metered below 10 ppm in front of you, logged on your report. No soap, no chemicals, no pressure washer.

03

Walk-through, then the invoice

After-photos next to before-photos, at your door or in your text thread. You see the difference, then we send the invoice. That order never flips.

02 The guarantee

Spot-free, or we come back free.

See a spot inside 7 days? Text us the photo — we re-clean it free, usually within 48 hours. No forms, no debate: your text is the claim. And every job ends the same way: we walk you through your before-and-after photos, then we send the invoice.

One honest exception, stated up front: glass with years of baked-in mineral etching can't be fully restored by any safe cleaning method. If we see it, it'll be on your before photos and we'll tell you straight — we won't pretend a clean can fix it.

03 The two of us

Hi — we're Berk & Jachin.

Two friends from Oceanside who got obsessed with a weirdly satisfying problem: dusty solar panels. We built Sol & Summit around doing one thing exactly right — pure water, soft bristles, and never a single footstep on your roof — while we work our way through school, one spotless array at a time.

We're brand new, and we're not hiding it. New means when you text, a founder answers — usually within minutes — and when the pole goes up, it's one of us holding it. Your home gets founder-level care, because there's nobody else we'd trust with it yet.

04 Solar 101

Know your panels — even if you never hire us

We'd rather teach you than sell you. The honest version of how this works:

The real economics

What dirt actually costs

At SDG&E's ~40–46¢/kWh rates, a typical home quietly losing ~5% of production to grime leaves roughly $150–250 a year on the roof — more with bird droppings or low-tilt panels, less if yours sit steep and rain-rinsed. Honest math beats sales math, always.

The dirty secret

Why rain doesn't fix it

Rain knocks off loose dust — then dries, leaving its own mineral spots, and it never touches the baked-on films: marine-layer salt haze, spring pollen sap, road and freeway exhaust. Those need contact with a soft brush and water pure enough to grab them.

Your scoreboard

Your solar app already knows

Open Enphase or SolarEdge and compare a sunny week this month against the same week last year — that gap is weather plus grime. It's also the honest before/after test for any cleaning, ours included. We'll show you how to read it when we visit.

The anti-sell

When NOT to pay us

Steep coastal panels that rain genuinely scrubs, no visible film, healthy app numbers? Skip a cycle — we'll tell you so. If a clean won't plausibly pay for itself in output and lifespan, we'd rather keep your trust than take your $149.

05 While we're there

The pole is already up — put it to work

Every add-on rides the visit you already booked: same pole, same pure water, no second trip charge.

Drone-Ready Polish, before your shoot

07 Service area

The North County corridor

OCEANSIDE — HOME BASE

Solar panel cleaning in Oceanside is where we live and where we start — from Fire Mountain to Rancho del Oro to the South O flats. Coastal salt film meets inland dust here, and being local means same-week slots and no trip padding.

SAN MARCOS

Solar panel cleaning in San Marcos — San Elijo Hills, Discovery Hills, Twin Oaks Valley — where inland dust plus spring pollen coat arrays fast, and half our first routes begin.

CARLSBAD

Marine-layer film is the quiet output-killer near the coast — it bakes onto glass through La Costa, Aviara, and Calavera Hills summers. Solar panel cleaning in Carlsbad pairs well with exterior windows; the salt haze hits both.

VISTA

From Shadowridge to downtown, Vista sits in the dust belt between coast and inland heat. Solar panel cleaning in Vista every six months keeps arrays near clean-day output through the long rainless stretch.

ESCONDIDO

The hottest, dustiest corner of our route — big arrays around Lake Hodges and Hidden Meadows collect the most grime and give back the most from a clean. Solar panel cleaning in Escondido is often our largest-system work.

ENCINITAS

Coastal film from Leucadia to Olivenhain, plus one of the busiest listing markets in the county — solar panel cleaning in Encinitas is half homeowners, half agents getting a property drone-ready.

08 FAQ

Straight answers

Why won't you go on my roof?

Foot traffic cracks tiles and can void roofing warranties — it's the top source of damage in this industry. Our 30-foot pole reaches most arrays from the ground. If yours genuinely can't be reached, we tell you straight and decline the job, free, rather than improvise on your roof.

How much does solar panel cleaning cost?

Residential visits around San Diego typically run $150–$350 depending on array size, usually priced per panel with a minimum on top — the largest local outfit charges $10 a panel with a $250 minimum. We charge flat: your first clean is $149 for homes of 13–20 panels ($189 after) and $129 for 12 panels or fewer ($149 after). Standard rates: $149 up to 12 panels, $189 for 13–20, $239 for 21–30, $289 for 31–40. Exterior windows add on from $69, same visit.

How often should panels be cleaned?

In our dry, dusty corridor: every six months. After your first clean, book the next one by the six-month mark and your standard rate stays locked — that's part of every job, and we'll remind you when you're due.

Do I need to be home?

No. Everything happens outside — we need ground access to the array side of the house and an outdoor spigot. Your photos arrive by text either way, and the walk-through happens in your thread.

How do I pay?

After the photo walk-through, we send the invoice — Zelle, Venmo, card, or cash. You see the results before any money moves.

Does cleaning actually increase output?

Usually some, sometimes a lot — it depends on the dirt load. Bird droppings, low-tilt arrays, and homes near dirt roads or freeways see the biggest gains; a lightly dusted array sees less. We won't promise a number — your own Enphase or SolarEdge app is the honest scoreboard.

What if you find damage — or cause it?

Anything already there is photographed and on record before we start, so there's never a question of who did what. We never repair panels, mounts, or wiring — that's licensed solar contractor territory, and we'll refer you out.

What's deionized water?

Water filtered until almost nothing is dissolved in it — we meter it on site, below 10 parts per million. It grabs dirt aggressively and dries without spots: no soap, no squeegee, no film baking onto your glass.
